  • Below are the multiple stages and steps which tests, prepares, and evaluates the candidate to ensure they're able to conduct their duties to the best of their ability and to the standards of the City of Los Santos.
    APPLICANT STAGE
    STEP 1 Preliminary Background Application (PBA)

    CANDIDATE STAGE
    STEP 2 Personal Qualifications Essay (PQE)
    STEP 3 Department Interview (DI)

    RECRUIT STAGE
    STEP 4 Pre-Academy Test (PAT)
    STEP 5 Police Academy (PA)
    STEP 6 Post-Academy Examination (PAE)

  • STEP 1 - PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND APPLICATION (PBA)
    • The Preliminary Background Application is the first step of the application process in which basic information is gathered from the applicant and investigated. The investigation will include checks of employment, police, financial, education, military records and more.

  • STEP 2 - PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS ESSAY (PQE)
    • Once your application has been accepted then you will be tasked with completing a written examination called the Personal Qualifications Essay. The PQE consists of essay questions which will assess your writing, judgment and decision making ability in relevant situations you may face as a police officer.

  • STEP 3 - DEPARTMENT INTERVIEW
    • Stage 3, the Department Interview is split into two portions - the in-game portion and the TeamSpeak portion. The Department Interview will be conducted to assess your personal accomplishments, job motivation, instrumentality, interpersonal skills, and oral communication skills. This provides a chance to shine and prove to the Recruitment Officer your individuality and roleplay skills, as well as demonstrate your character's personality for the in-game part. (Only those candidates who pass the interview will be scheduled for further testing.)

Image RECRUIT STAGE
  • STEP 4 - PRE-ACADEMY TEST
    • The Training Division takes over from the Recruitment and Employment Division and will be in charge of the rest of the process. The applicant is now considered a Recruit Officer. You will be tasked with completing the Pre-Academy Test. The test will assess your ability to understand and apply theoretical knowledge after reading a passage provided to you. Only those candidates who are selected during this part of the process will receive a Conditional Job Offer.

  • STEP 5 - POLICE ACADEMY
    • The Los Santos Police Department Police Academy is the is the final step in the selection process. The Police Academy consists of extensive theory and practical education on Department policy, procedures, and law to ensure that the student is qualified to be a police officer.

    STEP 6 - POST-ACADEMY EXAMINATION
    • Once you have completed the police academy, you will be required to complete the Post-Academy Examination. The examination is a written test and you will be required to retain all knowledge taught throughout the academy in order to pass. You will be asked a variety of questions in order to fully evaluate your ability and potential as an officer in the Los Santos Police Department. These range from closed, policy-based questions to theoretical scenarios where you will be asked to explain the actions taken by you. Once completed, the exams are marked by instructors within the Training Division and, if successful, you will be able to attend the Graduation.

Image GRADUATE STAGE
  • STEP 7 - GRADUATION
    • The final step in the Los Santos Police Department application process is the Graduation. The graduation is a private ceremony available to all recruit officers who achieve a passing grade in the police academy examination. At the ceremony you will be sworn into the Department by the Chief of Police and will receive your LSPD badge. There will also be a series of demonstrations, for example, a radio tutorial, on the day to ensure that all students are prepared to serve and protect the City of Los Santos.
